Everything Looks Different

Greer Garza is a woman of a certain age who appears to have it all. She’s a partner at a downtown Austin law firm. She’s attained the coveted corner office. She’s living in the fixer-upper home of her dreams. The one thing she does not have, however, is love. She lives a life of regret and what-ifs and wonders if the choices she has made are why love has eluded her. At this stage in her life, she’s given up hope of finding love and has convinced herself she’s better off alone. Now she prefers to sit on the sidelines watching romantic Korean dramas with her cats. It’s safer that way.

But fate has other plans for Greer. A friend’s wedding is the catalyst that propels Greer into living her own real-life drama. Her adventure begins when she meets Gun Donovan, a swoon-worthy Korean American who makes Greer’s heart flutter for the first time in years. There’s just one problem: Gun does not share her feelings. Worse, he does not like her, and sparks fly when the two are together. Unbeknownst to Greer, Gun is also scarred by his past, so there is a reason for his animosity.

Yet despite this, fate keeps throwing them together, and eventually, they cannot deny their growing attraction to one another. As they begin falling in love, Greer discovers the secret of Gun’s past and is shocked that it is intertwined with her own. The discovery challenges everything she thought to be true, and it shakes her to her core. Will the truth drive them apart or finally lead to their happily-ever-after?

QUOTES

“She turned around and looked up into the face of the most handsome Asian man she had ever seen. Correction. He was the most handsome man she had ever seen. Asian or non-Asian. The sight of him took her breath away, and she stumbled backward. She had never seen a man like him before, at least not in Texas.”

— Chapter 2

“He had her at chips and queso. The Mexican Martini was the cherry on top. She was so easy when it came to food.”

— Chapter 10

“She liked the way he held her. It was gentle yet strong. Exhilarating yet safe, and she had never felt more at home. She buried her nose in his shirt and breathed in his scent, taking in everything about him. The warmth of his skin was intoxicating. She wanted to remember this night forever.”
